Tammy was born on November 18, 1958, the daughter of Albert and Pauline (Copeland) Zeier. She was the eldest of 8 children. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1976. She was united in marriage to Thomas Wylesky at the United Methodist Church of Columbus on July 16,1977. In 1979, Tammy and Tom moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where Tammy worked for Control Data Consultants. In 1980, Tammy gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Tommy. In 1981, she gave birth to another beautiful boy named Timmy. In 1984, they purchased some land in the village of Doylestown and moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to family and friends. They soon built a house with the help of those same family and friends. In 1985, she gave birth to a third boy named Troy. Tracey was born in 1987 and the final of five boys Trent was born in 1988. As the years passed, she watched her boys and family grow. Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. She loved baking and giving trays of Christmas cookies to family and friends. It wasn't just the cookies people enjoyed it was her loving spirit and kind demeanor. She was soft spoken and loved everyone. She would feed just about anyone if they showed up around dinner time. Her home was always open to family and friends. People also looked forward to visiting in the late spring and early summer where she was known for her rhubarb pie and in the fall for her apple and pear crisps. She made numerous jams and jellies, some of which even won prizes at the county fair. Above all, Tammy was a devote Methodist and found joy in helping and taking care of others.
Tammy worked for the state of Wisconsin at the Department of Public Instruction in Madison. She started as a limited term employee. In 1991, was then hired as a purchasing agent. Over the years she moved up and was promoted to Financial Specialist Senior at DPI Business Office. After 28 years of service to the State of Wisconsin she retired on February 13, 2019. She also helped teach hunter safety for a few years at Rio. Tammy loved traveling and going on vacations. After she and her husband retired, they took numerous trips and vacations including some recurring ones to Minnesota for fishing and to Texas to visit her son, Tim. She also loved embarking on the wine trail adventures in different states. It wasn't just for the wine but for the love of the scenery as well. When she wasn't traveling you could find her at the bowling alley or at her kitchen table where she loved watching the birds and the deer come into the backyard to eat the apples and most notably were the eagles that would park themselves in the trees by the house. She was a lover of animals, especially cats and dogs. She raised many like they were her own children.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Thomas; her children: Tom (Lorie) Wylesky, Timothy (Kasey) Wylesky, Troy Wylesky, Tracey (Kelly Sell) Wylesky, and Trent Wylesky; and grandchildren: Zack, Keira, Isabella, Ian, Trason, Evan, Guinevere, Audrianna, and Carrick; her siblings: Mark Zeier, Kevin (Kathy) Zeier, Tim Zeier, Cheryl (Ron) Hurckman, Lauri (Todd) Jensen, Ben Zeier, and Jennifer (Brandon) Leverenz; her beloved cats, Misty and Scooty; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
