Ter Beest, Eleanor

Eleanor Ter Beest, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted follower of Jesus, died peacefully at the age of 93 on October 20, 2016.

Eleanor was born December 28, 1922, the daughter of Alice and Bert Vande Streek. On September 11, 1946 she married Melvin Ter Beest. Together they shared 58 wonderful years raising their two children in the Alto area, traveling, playing cards with friends, and attending Alto Reformed Church. She enjoyed singing and teaching children in the church, baking the most wonderful pies, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She loved spoiling her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Marilyn and Ron Fink of Omro and Milan and Benita Ter Beest of Alto; her grandchildren: Cody and Alyssa Fink, Casey Fink, Derek Ter Beest, Casey and Erin Ter Beest, Mandy and Mitch Daun, and Jessa Ter Beest; great-grandchildren: Sawyer and Cora Ter Beest; sister, Gladys Kastein; brothers: Bud (Leatrice) Vande Streek, Bernie (Doris) Vande Streek, and Wayne (Emma Jean) Vande Streek; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Eleanor joyously joined her husband Melvin, sister Cynthia Kastein, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in heaven with Jesus.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Eleanor Ter Beest will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. at

Alto Reformed Church

with Rev. Kevin Van Wyk and Rev. Ted Medema officiating.
