Terri R. McKean, formerly known as Dorella Lafler, age 71 of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2011 at her home.
Terri was born as Dorella Lafler on September 9, 1939 in Randolph, WI to Reuben and Ramona (nee Krueger) Lafler. She graduated from Randolph High School and worked at Carnation in Waupun for many years. Terri was a very free-spirited individual who enjoyed just getting up and going off to do different things. Terri and her best friend, Erma Saavedra, enjoyed staying active in various activities at the Vineyard, a residential community where they lived in New Mexico. Terri was determined to keep a piece of Wisconsin with her in New Mexico, even trying to grow grass. She found it easier to just stay an avid Green Bay Packer fan and would be very proud of the team's Super Bowl run this season. She liked to putz around with various projects, often having several going on at the same time. Her hobbies included ceramics, gardening and cooking.
Terri is survived by her best friend of 37 years, Erma Saavedra of Albuquerque, NM; her children, Cynthia Piggott of Beaver Dam, Missy Candalaria and Jeromy (Denise) Saavedra, both of New Mexico; one grandson, T.J. (Tammy) Fenske of Beaver Dam; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Zachery, Jessica and Kaydin; and her sister, Darrilyn (Dale) Winterhack of Waupun. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
