Thelma Medema, 86, of Waupun, was relieved by the Lord of her earthly struggles on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Thelma was born February 5, 1936 in Brandon, WI, the daughter of Herman and Allie Bronkhorst Medema. Thelma had many special needs and yet was able to stay in her own home until she died. She worked for many years at Helen's Kitchen wrapping silverware. She also did a lot of babysitting for her nephews, nieces, and some church groups. Thelma delighted in finding Bibles to leave for people to take from her apartment laundry room. Much of her life revolved around her church. She loved her pastor and rarely missed Sunday services. Thelma appreciated the love and care of family and friends. She often said, “Everyone is so good to me!” Thelma had a remarkable ability to remember the birthdays and anniversaries of all her family members and had cards ready for them. We, her family, are so thankful to know that God has now received her into his wonderful freedom and joy of eternal peace. Her presence has made a significant impact on many lives.
Thelma is survived by her brother, Pastor Ted (Julia) Medema; a sister, Margaret Mittelstaedt; sisters-in-law: Ramona and Evie Medema; and many nieces and nephews.
Thlema was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Alvin, Clayton (Carol), John (Marcie), and George (Bonnie) Medema; and sister, Helen (John) Aalpoel.
Funeral services for Thelma Medema will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Alto Christian Reformed Church in the town of Alto with Pastor Forsell Gappa officiating. Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to Alto Christian Reformed Church.
