Theresa L Gardner (Scoles) 83, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 18, 2024, just an hour shy of her 84th birthday.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Tahoe Park shelter, 96 La Crosse St. in Beaver Dam.
Theresa was born October 19, 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin to Esther (Hand) and Thomas Scoles. She attended St Joseph's Catholic School in Madison, where she began her close relationship with Jesus. A devout Catholic, Theresa was deeply committed to her faith and actively involved in her church community. Her love for Jesus was evident in everything she did, touching the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Theresa was also a passionate crafter, finding joy in working with her hands. She was often seen at craft sales showcasing her beautiful jewelry, quilts, and various sewn and knitted items. Her creations were a reflection of her kind and patient spirit, donating many of her creations to those in need.
Theresa will be remembered for her joyful spirit, compassionate heart, and countless lives she touched. She is survived by her son, Layton (Judy) Searight of Cross Plains; daughters Victoria (Chris) Valenzuela of Florida, and Denise (Bill Cusick) Searight of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Nicole, Shadia, and Nathan; and many nieces, nephews, and close relatives.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband David J. Searight, Jr. (1996); her husband Donald N. Gardner (2015); son Thomas Searight; siblings William Parnell, Robert Scoles, Marlene Adams, and Maureen Lovejoy.
