Trenton Ryan Smith

Trenton Ryan Smith, age 26 of Fond du Lac, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Trent was born in Oklahoma on January 9, 2000, the son of Ronald “Charlie” Smith and Larissa J. Landreth-Smith. A fighter, he battled medical issues early on and was in and out of the hospital as a child. After graduating high school, he got engaged to the love of his life, Carli, and together they had two beautiful children and recently bought their first house. A family man to the core, Trent truly loved his family and friends and cherished spending time by the fire with them. While he was quite an adventurous daredevil, he was also patient and kind, always willing to help others out. He was competitive, particularly against his Dad, and he loved sports, especially fantasy football. He will be missed by many.

Trent is survived by his fiancé, Carli Berkholtz; daughter, Sailor Smith; son, Luka Smith; grandma, Marie Smith; father, Ronald “Charlie” (Tamara) Smith; mother, Larissa Landreth-Smith; aunts and uncles, Chris (Janette) Ramsey, Amy Uechler, Aaron (Carolyn) Smith, Willie Story Jr., and Josh Story; siblings, Airean Brooke Landreth, Dalton Ray Smith, Gavin Kyle Smith, Justin Jobe Smith, Sebastian Charles Smith, Vera Jane Smith; niece and nephew, Annalena Smith and Gabriel Smith; best friend, Lee Roy Freelove; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dennis R. Smith, Willie R. Story Sr., and Kelena R. Story; great-grandma, Billie Wright; aunt, Shylah Story; great-uncle, Farron L. Robinson; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Trent will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A meal will be provided after the gathering by Loaves & Fishes.
