Twilah DeBoer, 93, of Ripon, formerly of Brandon, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at her residence at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Twilah was born November 29, 1925 in Brandon, the daughter of Elmer and Anna Kastein Meenk. Twilah graduated from Brandon High School in 1943 and received her bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh. On April 11, 1946 she married Charles “Chuck” DeBoer Jr. in Brandon. Following their marriage the couple resided in Brandon until June 17, 1914 at which time they moved to Ripon. Twilah taught elementary and junior high school for 34 years. She was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon and a charter member of the Brandon Historical Society. Twilah enjoyed genealogy, knitting, and reading. Twilah and Chuck enjoyed traveling together overseas and in the United States.

Twilah is survived by her son, Bruce (Kathy) DeBoer of Ripon; her daughter, Charlotte (Verlyn) Rebelein of Brandon; six grandchildren: Benjamin (Melinda) DeBoer, Kristen Rebelein, Charles D. DeBoer, Garry DeBoer, Betsy (Jake) Hamm, and Mary (David) Stariha; two foster grandchildren: Khan (Jonathan) Dukes, and Nghiep (Jessica) Trang; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a son, David; and a brother, Donald Meenk.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.



A funeral service for Twilah DeBoer will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Rev. John Tilstra officiating.



Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery.
