Velma P. Grosskreuz, age 91 of Dalton, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at home.

Velma was born on September 25, 1926 in Gresham, WI, the daughter of Frederick and Jenny (Howe) Murphy. She was united in marriage to Lawrence "Buzz" L. Grosskreuz. She most recently worked at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage. An animal lover, Velma especially loved her cats. Her hobbies included reading detective magazines, watching the Green Bay Packers, and playing Rummy, Solitaire, Bingo and slot machines.

Velma is survived by her children, Theresa (Duane) Wichman of Montello, Kim (Kreg DeBoer) Grosskreuz of Brandon and Larry (Helen) Grosskreuz Jr. of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Katherine, Joey, Justin, Kris (Eric), Ryan (Lauren), Sean, Darian (Sawyer) and Merrisa; great-grandchildren, Abi, Madi, Gavin, Sammy, Savannah, Scarlett and Emma; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence (2013); son, Steven (1984); daughter, Della (2010); grandson, Kevin; three sisters and one brother.

In honoring Velma's wishes, a private family funeral service will be held and burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, town of Kingston.
