Vilas L. King age 87, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Eagle's Wings in Beaver Dam. Vilas was born on November 28, 1919 in Beaver Dam to John and Helen (nee Clemans) King. He was married to his first wife Norma Ziebell on November 18, 1943 at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and to his second wife Irene Kreier on November 2, 1996.
Vilas is survived by two nieces, JoAnn Burchardt and Eunice Burchardt both of Beaver Dam, one Great Niece Kari Jo (Scott) Eberle of Beaver Dam, one Great Nephew Brad (Jill) Burchardt of Beaver Dam and four Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Vilas was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Norma and his second wife Irene, one brother Gordon King, two sisters Agnes Krobert and Francis Burchardt DeJanovich, two nephews Gerald and Eugene Burchardt and other relatives.
Vilas worked at Green Giant in Beaver Dam, Pure Oil Co. and spent 30 years at Maysteel. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for over 30 years and a member of
Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Funeral Services for Vilas will be on Sat. June 23, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Kevin J. Kohnke officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton. Visitation will also be on Sat. June 23, 2007 from 10:00a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00a.m. at the Church. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam or to the Charity of your choice.
