Virginia (Ginny) Tetzlaff age 93 of Markesan, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Barrett House in Markesan.
Virginia was born on July 16, 1931, in the Town of Green Lake, the daughter of Irving & Mildred (Mann) Moderow. Virginia was baptized August 23, 1931, in Ripon and confirmed on April 14, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Markesan by Rev. Kobs.
Virginia attended Green Lake Prairie School and graduated from Markesan High School in 1949. Virginia married Rubin "Joe" Tetzlaff on July 29, 1951, and they were married for 61 years. Virginia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, past Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Virginia was previously employed at Markesan State Bank for 38 years and retired in 1990. Virginia enjoyed bowling for over 50 years and enjoyed going to state bowling tournaments and playing in various bridge card clubs. Virginia and Joe enjoyed traveling after retiring. She enjoyed spending special time with her daughters and the rest of her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann (Denis) Kremer of Greenfield, WI and Rita Tetzlaff of Markesan, WI; two grandsons, Jonathan Kremer of Greenfield, WI and Benjamin (Christine) Kremer of Colorado Springs, CO; two great grandchildren, Brodie and Brynlee; and further survived by relatives and friends.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Rubin "Joe" Tetzlaff; parents; and mother- and father-in-law' and other relatives.
Visitation for Virginia will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 9:00 – 11:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 65 W. Catherine St., Markesan, WI 53946 with funeral service at 11:30 am at church. Pastor Jason Jobs will officiate. Interment will follow at Markesan Memorial Cemetery in the City of Markesan. A memorial is being established.
