Virginia S. Hodgson

Virginia “Ginny” Hodgson, age 90 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Ginny was born on December 29, 1935, in Markesan, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Hazel (Cotterill) Schelter. On April 22, 1963, she was united in marriage to Clyde Hodgson in Illinois.

For more than 35 years, Ginny proudly served as a crossing guard for the City of Beaver Dam. She cherished her time with the children she helped safely cross the streets and loved sharing their funny stories with family and friends. Ginny also worked for many years as a cook at the Green Giant plant in Beaver Dam, where she formed many lasting friendships.

Ginny loved spending time outdoors, especially camping with her family, which eventually led them to build a cabin in Friendship, Wisconsin. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling and making memories with family and friends.

Ginny is survived by her children: Bobbie (Michael) Vossekuil of Waupun, Sue (Scott) Kohl of Coleman, Bonnie (Roy) Pullam of Beaver Dam, and Rick (Cheryl) Hodgson of Beaver Dam. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Bradley Elvers (Beth Lienhard), Stephanie (Brandon) Fruitger, Jon (Sarah) Vossekuil, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jared Pullam, Shannon (Lance) Patroullie, and Paige Hodgson; as well as great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Randy Hodgson; her sister, Patricia Graff; her brothers, Robert Lee, DuWayne, Phillip, and Joseph Jr. Schelter; her sisters-in-law, Lavina and Judi Schelter; her brother-in-law, Norman Graff; and her nephews, Jeff Graff and Bobby Lee Schelter.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, at 9:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Mackford Union Cemetery in Markesan.
