Obituary

Walter Frederick Huber, 86, passed away November 18, 2023 in Winter Park, FL.

Wally will always be remembered as a gentle, considerate, jovial man who never shied away from a conversation. His intelligence and life experiences made gatherings lively and interesting. Wally was born to Alois and Alice Huber on November 21, 1936 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Wally attended Beaver Dam High School and was president of his junior and senior class. His family's business produced some of Wisconsin's most delicious cheese from their home's cheese factory.  In 1954, Wally attended the University of Wisconsin, earning his B.S. degree in Dairy Industry and Marketing. Wally served his country with honor, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. Upon completing his military service, Wally accepted a position with the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and became one of their most successful Sales Managers. While traveling to Florida for business, Wally met the love of his life, Wilma Smith. They married on December 23, 1963 and moved to Charleston, SC before eventually settling in Orlando, FL. Wally enjoyed great success in all his career endeavors, primarily due to his friendly persona.

Wally is preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Alice Huber, and brother, Carl Huber. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, sister, Mary Barstow, and his children: Bonnie Heidbrink (Paul), Guy Poteat, Kathy Lancaster (Richard), and Heidi Halpin (Michael). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

No funeral services are planned.

If you were lucky enough to know Wally, may his memory be a blessing.
