Wanda Stiteley

Wanda Stiteley, 97, of Waupun, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Christian Home in Waupun.

Wanda was born September 2, 1926 to Herman and Mabel Gokey Morel. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1944. Wanda worked for the government building ammunition during WWII. She then attended Viterbo University to be a medical tech, and graduated in the late 1940’s. Wanda then worked for St. Francis as a medical technician. She later met the love of her life, Harland Stiteley and the couple was married on February 19, 1955. They lived in Tomah where Wanda worked at Tomah Memorial Hospital and she retired in the 1980’s. In 1996 Wanda and Harland decided to move to Waupun to be closer to family. Wanda loved traveling, fishing, and writing, sewing, gardening, and her grandchildren. She was also a great baker. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun.

Wanda is survived by three sons: Bruce (Tammy) Stiteley, Gregg (Judy) Stiteley, and Paul (Bobbi Sue) Stiteley; 11 grandchildren: Todd (Danette) Stiteley, Tim Stiteley, Issac (Jessica) Stiteley, Jeff (Paloma) Van Strydonk, Kellie (Jeremy) Strassman, Ryan (Nicole) Stiteley, Reid Stiteley, Kirstin (Jeff) Albiero, Melissa (Cris) Kliczak, Ross (Erin) Stiteley, and Michelle (Cory) Kraermer; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria (Donald) Jones.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Harland; grandson, Robert Stiteley; a brother, Charles Morel; and her parents.

Funeral services for Wanda Stiteley will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun with Pastor Jeff Nicla officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Mount Vernon Cemetery 23008 State Hwy 16 Tomah, WI 54660.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to St. Jude or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun.
