Wayne R. Schroeder, age 84 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Sunday August 25, 2024.

Wayne was born on June 2, 1940, the son of Arthur and Leona (Wolfgram) Schroeder. He was a 1959 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was united in marriage to his wife Elaine (Hollander) on February 11, 1961. Wayne joined the National Guard just out of high school and was called to active duty in September of 1961. He later joined the Beaver Dam police department and was an officer for 5 years. Wayne then became a truck driver for 30 years and retired. After retiring, he needed to stay active and may have even carried out your groceries at Piggly Wiggly. Wayne enjoyed Friday night fish fries at Buckhorn; Sunday nights were chicken and an old fashioned, or 2, at Schaumburgs, mowing the lawn, and watching Packer and Badger games. Over the years he loved motorcycling, boating, snowmobiling, and bowling, but his biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially at holiday get togethers. He was quite a jokester and always made people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene (Pearl), and Kenneth; his sisters Donna Peters (Dennis), and Lola Kranz; and other relatives.

He is survived by his wife Elaine; his children, Wendy from Sheridan, Indiana and Christopher (Stephanie)from Juneau, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

In honoring Wayne's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
