William "Bill" Wiersma, Jr., 64, of the Town of Elba, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Columbus Community Hospital.

Bill was born on September 21, 1943 to William and Margaret (Williams) Wiersma, Sr. He worked for more than 40 years as an over-the-road truck driver and spent the last 15 years working for Willow Foods in Beaver Dam. Bill enjoyed gardening and outdoor work of any kind. His family was very important to him, and he treasured all of his time that he spent with them. His family loved him dearly and he will be sadly missed.

Bill is survived by two sons, Steve (Denise) Wiersma of Waupun, Gary (Carol) Wiersma of Jefferson; one daughter, Laurie Wiersma of Juneau; three brothers, Howard (Carol) Wiersma of Hustisford, Larry (Crystal) Wiersma of Beaver Dam, Harvey (Lana) Wiersma of Columbus; five sisters, Catherine Pixler of Madison, Mary (Curtis) Becker of Iron Ridge, Dorothy (Bob) Whitrock of Beaver Dam, Linda Neuman of Beaver Dam, Joyce Hafemeister of Beaver Dam; two half-sisters, Alice (Hank) Evans of Juneau, Evelyn Leystra of Cambria; two half-brothers, Charles Wiersma of Waupun, Bob (Linda) Wiersma of Portage; and two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Kirstie. Bill is further survived by his children's mother, Joanne of Waupun, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Susan, and his special friend of over 20 years, Bertha Schoenwetter on August 21, 2007.

Visitation will take place on Thursday January 24, 2008 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam. A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillside Hospice.
