William S. Callies, age 55 of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 31, 2011 at UW Hospital in Madison.
William was born on March 9, 1955 in Beaver Dam to Reuben and Rose Anne (nee Rechek) Callies. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and was an over-the-road truck driver for Hirschbach Trucking. William's relationship with God was very important to him. He loved reading the Bible, praying, and sharing his love for Jesus with others. He was a member of The Heart Community Church in Juneau. He enjoyed meeting new people and was very selfless; in conversation he was always more interested in hearing about what was going on in other people's lives rather than sharing about his own. He also loved animals.
William is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Phillip) Schaefer of Maple Grove, MN; his parents, Reuben and Rose Anne Callies of Beaver Dam; his siblings, Randall (Susan) Callies of Beaver Dam, Jeanne (John) Risse of Beaver Dam, Julie Wedel of Arizona, Joseph (Jane) Callies of Beaver Dam, Janis Baux of Wisconsin Dells, Paul Callies of Beaver Dam and Ruby (Brian) Gerber of Waupun; and three grandchildren, Emma, Evan and Nora. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Minnie Callies, Stencil and Mary Belle Rechek.
A Memorial Service for William will take place on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam with Pastor Curt Zeise officiating.
