William "Bill" Jay Schmidt, age 63, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 in Sperry, Oklahoma.

A memorial gathering for Bill will take place on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Bill was born in Beaver Dam on July 8, 1959, the son of Lawrence and Phyllis Ann (Mayberry) Schmidt. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. In 1980, he moved to Sperry, Oklahoma and spent most of his life working as a sales representative. An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed boating, hunting, and fishing in his free time. He was known to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone.

Bill is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Phyllis Schmidt of Columbus; daughter, Brianna (Jason) Tally of Owasso, Oklahoma; siblings, Mark (Deborah) Schmidt of Beaver Dam, Michael Schmidt of Beaver Dam, and Jim Schmidt of Fox Lake; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Schmidt; and other relatives.
