William George August Kohlstedt was born to Myrtle and George Kohlstedt in Waukegan, Illinois on November 11, 1938. William passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 8, 2025.

William is Survived by his Wife Lauranna, daughter's Elizabeth, Sarah, and Bethany (William) Leinweber as well as grandchildren Brayden (Natalie), Colin (Aryana), Willow, Cooper, Tayana, Jasmyn, Ethyn, Peytyn, Aerylyn, and Gannyn and also great-grandchildren Adalyn, Kingston, and Kahlina-Rose. William is preceded in death by his parents Myrtle (Barthel) and George as well as his beloved dog Sadie.

William was married to Lauranna Louise Gruel on August 28, 1971 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Algonquin, II. The two were deeply in love and were married for 54 years. They built a beautiful family and took the most pride in raising their three daughters together. William was a faithful servant to the Lord and was deeply devoted to his Savior throughout his life.  He often spent time reminiscing on the days of his old farm where he tended to his cows, chickens, and his pig, Oinky.  He was a hard worker and spent 25 years at Jakel repairing feed mill trucks. William was also very passionate about the 17 years he spent as a first responder for the Reeseville - Lowell area. Towards the end of his career, William spent 16 years at Walmart as a maintenance worker until he retired at the age of 82. He loved the Packers and reading, but most of all he loved sliced onions with seasoning salt. William was a resilient man who was admired and loved by many.

Visitation for William will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church: Salem-Lowell Campus, 105 Juneau St., Lowell, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will take place at Lowell Cemetery.
