Winton was born on December 4, 1923 at home in Fairwater, the son of Fred and Anna (Eitzman) Lenz. A World War II veteran, Winton proudly served his country from 1943-46 in the United States Army Air Corps while stationed in England and France. On September 11, 1948, he was united in marriage to Cirena "June" Kottke. Winton worked as a service manager at Laper's Garage in Fairwater.
Winton was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, where he served on the church council. He also enjoyed being a member of the Fairwater Rod & Gun Club, the Fairwater-Brandon American Legion Post 378, the Fairwater Fire Department and the Fairwater Village Board. He loved deer hunting and taught hunter safety education for over 35 years. Winton was also very talented at woodworking.
Winton is survived by his wife, Cirena "June" of Fairwater; his children, Bruce (Cindy) Lenz of Fairwater, Marsha (Robin Kim) Lenz of Naperville, IL and Jerry (Ann Dehn) Lenz of Marquette; two grandchildren, Clint (Kim) Lenz and their children, Haley, Dylan and Emylee, all of Fall River; Wade (Kelsey) Lenz and their children, Julia, Addison, Wyatt and Cullen, all of Markesan; sister, Jolene Hagens of Madison and further survived by other relatives and friends.
Winton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merlin "Shorty" Lenz; brother-in-law, Howard Hagens and other relatives.Visits: 0
