We extend our sincere sympathy to all of you. Since I don’t have
addresses for each of you – I ‘ll send this along. It’s not possible
for us to come for the funeral – would love to see everyone again.
Such great memories of all the VanderLaan relatives!!
Praying the Lord will fold you in His arms of comfort and love in
the days ahead. In Christ, Rich and Marilyn
To Cousins Jim Groenewold and Kathy Bille & Families:
Was sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. But like you said, she is in a better place. I always liked your Mom. I still remember when Aunt Alice and Uncle Otto and Aunt Tracy came to my house for dinner ( a long time ago). My parents were here, too. I have a picture of us all sitting around the picnic table.
That picture of all eleven children with Grandpa and Grandma is really something. What wonderful people they brought into the world!
Anyway, our sympathy to you all.
Sincerely,
Laura & Rick
I remember Aunt Alice as a woman of dignity and elegance. She loved pretty things in her home and always dressed beautifully. She had an inner creative spark about her that was very endearing.
I remember how she came to my husband’s funeral in August of 1975, just a week after Uncle John died. She had a certain admirable resilience about her that I very much admired.
I send my sympathy to you and will always remember your mother with fondness and admiration.
