[highlight_text] [/highlight_text] Robert “Bob” E. Rens, 81, of Waupun, passed away to his eternal home on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home.

[leftcolumn] Bob was born on May 14, 1932 in Fond du Lac the son of Donald and Dorothy Boom Rens. Bob graduated in 1950 from Waupun High School and then began farming on the family dairy farm. On February 26, 1954 he married Junice R. Westra. Bob was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. He served on the boards of Farmer’s Elevator, Chester Township as treasurer, Dodge County and the Christian Day School. Bob fulfilled a boyhood dream of becoming a pilot and started his flying instruction in 1957. He became a corporate pilot for several companies in the area. He also was a Ground School Instructor for Wisconsin Schools of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education in Beaver Dam. Bob also did custom harvesting for neighbors and friends. He took pride in a straight row of corn and smooth landings. After retirement, Bob and Junice moved to Waupun. Bob enjoyed God’s creations on the ground and in the sky!

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Junice Rens of Waupun; their five children: Donald Rens of Waupun, Thomas (Yenny) Rens of Menasha, Susan (Steve) Guell of Waupun, Mae (Greg) Kosciuk of Winneconne, and Jan (Patrick) Nickel of Waupun; 17 grandchildren: Tyler Rens, Julia (Luke) Houdek, Mason (Andrea) Rens, Madelyn (Aaron) Long, Conrad Rens, Daniel Rens, Victoria Rens, Kirsten Guell, Gina (Curt) Meshak, Evan Guell, Lydia Guell, Corrin Kosciuk, Elle Kosciuk, Sadie Kosciuk, Jess Nickel, Cory Nickel, and Brant Nickel; five great-grandchildren: Nikiah, Avery, Amelia, William, and Ainsley; sister, Clarice Koenig of Waupun; brothers-in-law: Dewey (Lois) Westra of Zeeland, MI, Jerry (Phyllis) Westra of Bradenton, FL, Robert (Rose) Westra of Waupun, and Glenn (Renee) Westra of Waupun; along with many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lisa Rens; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harland and Lorraine Kemink, and Ivan Koenig.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Visitation: [/highlight_text] Friends and relatives of Bob Rens may call on the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Services: [/highlight_text] Funeral services for Bob Rens will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Craig Van Hill officiating.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Burial: [/highlight_text] Burial will take place at Forest Mound Cemetery.
