Douglas G. DeBoer, 45, of Waupun, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

Doug was born September 19, 1967 in Waupun the son of Eugene and Betty Bylsma DeBoer. Doug graduated from Waupun High School in 1986. He married Carrie Nelson in 1986. Doug furthered his education at Central College in Pella, IA and graduated in 1990. He married Marcia Donovan in 1999. Doug worked for R & D Concrete Construction for approximately seven years before starting his own business, DeBoer Concrete. Doug enjoyed golf and baseball. He also loved to cook.
Doug is survived by his wife, Marcia, of Waupun; two children, Megan (Klint) Vande Zande of Waupun, and Tyler DeBoer of Waupun; a grandson, Klayton Vande Zande and a grandchild on the way; his parents, Eugene and Betty DeBoer of Brandon; a brother, Deron DeBoer of Brandon; two sisters, Dawn (Mike) Kleis of Pella, IA, and Deb (Tim) Bresser of Eau Claire, WI; step-children; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, and an uncle.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Funeral services for Doug DeBoer will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Rev. Wick Hubers officiating.

Burial will follow at Wedges Prairie Cemetery in the town of Waupun.

Sam and I are so sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. We are praying for all of you…for the peace and hope of Jesus Christ to surround you at this hard time. May all of your memories with Doug help you through this time.

Although I haven’t seen Doug for about 5 years, it was still a shock to hear of his passing. I enjoyed golfing and playing softball with him many times. Marcia, Megan and Tyler you have my thoughts and prayers.
Sincere sympathy to the whole DeBoer Family. Words cannot express nearly enough the thoughts and prayers that are being sent in your direction. I’ve known Doug since he was a very small boy and I babysat for him and his sisters. He was quite the kid and grew into quite the man. So very sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers to all of you. Remember the good times and cherish those precious memories….they will help you get through.
Doug was a good friend to not only Jake but to me as well.
I will miss him greatly and wish your family my sincere sympathy.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Although I have not seen Doug in many years, I have many fond memories of his competitive spirit (Brandon softball, Pony League in Waupun, etc.), his athletic ability, and his ability to enjoy a laugh. The loss of Doug will be felt by many. I hope the many precious memories you have experienced will remain fresh in your minds and will help ease the grief you are going through.
