Edward “Eddie” M. Ross
[highlight_text] (1955 – 2013) [/highlight_text] In loving tribute and remembrance to a wonderful and faithful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Edward “Eddie” M. Ross was born into eternal life with Jesus on October 21, 2013 unexpectedly at his home.

[leftcolumn] Eddie was born on June 9, 1955, in Wausau, WI, the son of Edmund and Joyce (Callahan) Ross. Eddie married his beloved wife and best friend, Cheryl (Shipley) Ross on January 17, 1994. Eddie was a graduate of Stoughton High School and Madison Area Technical College with degrees in Police Science and Automotive Technology. Eddie was employed for a short time as a police officer with the Capitol Police in Madison, WI and McFarland Police Department. But he was a mechanic at heart. He continued his love for mechanics, working for the Department of Corrections Waupun State Garage for over 33 years as an Automotive Equipment Technician-Master, retiring on June 30, 2011. Behind his quiet exterior, Eddie was a multi-talented, creative individual. He was great with his hands, detail oriented, and of course, mechanically and electrically inclined. His mother would always say, “If Eddie couldn’t fix it, throw it away”. His laugh was infectious and sense of humor made everyone smile. Eddie enjoyed spending his time working on cars, buses and any motorized equipment. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, and playing cards with family and friends. He also treasured attending his son’s basketball games which brought him great pride and joy. Eddie attended First Reformed Church in Waupun, WI. He volunteered his time doing acts of kindness in the church and community. Bible studies gave him peace and hope. His love for the Lord and his great faith shone through in his kind, gentle, loving spirit. He was an honest, caring man always putting other people’s needs first. He had the patience of a saint. He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Edward is survived by his parents, Edmund and Joyce (Callahan) Ross of Stoughton, WI; his beloved wife and best friend, Cheryl; his son, Edward Ross Jr. of Ann Arbor, MI; two daughters, Rozalin Ross of Fond du Lac and Elizabeth Ross of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Katelin Berger of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Mark Ross of Arbor Vitae, WI and Terence (Karen) Ross of New Hill, NC; four sisters, Lynnette Wolfe of Madison, Kathleen Ross of Bethany, CT, Patty (Robert) Muller of Fitchburg, WI, and Laurie Ross of Madison, WI; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Ross and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Cheryl and family, I am saddened to hear about your loss of a great man. I know Eddie was always quiet but I remember the day we had lunch together and I got to spend that time to get to know him from and “outside of work” prospective. Eddie shined light on many and will continue too, May God comfort your family in this time of sadness and grief.

What a great guy. He worked at the Shell Station in Stoughton when he was in High School. He wrote on my yearbook. He was and is a great human being whom I admired greatly. Although time and distance separated us, I will never forget the kindness, the laugh, the smile, the kidding, just a great guy. I feel proud to have graduated with this guy…. A great man and a great person now in his spiritual being. Can’t wait to say hello to him once again on the other side.. Darrell Ree Janesville, Wisconsin

Dear Cheryl; My heart and prayers go out to you and your family on the loss of a kind and gentle man. I didn’t get to know Eddie on a real personal level, but the times I was able to get out to the state garage, I stopped in and said hi and BS’d a bit with him. I always admired his laid-back, everythings ok attitude. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all that knew him.
May god comfort you and yours through this very sad time, and for all days ahead.

To Eddies family, Shirley and I were really shocked to see the post on FB. We would like to send the Ross Family our best and God Bless your family. Eddie became part of our family when we lived in Stoughton. He spent so much time with us and the kids. He was like a son for us. He was in my Auto Mechanics school to work program and was the best mechanic then. He helped Shirley and I remodel our fist home down there. Always smiling and laughing we had together. He even came to the rescue when Eric cut his wrist badly and took Mrs Z to the hospital. When we moved from Stoughton in 1976 Eddie drove up with us with a packed vehicle. We even deer hunted during those years. Time and the move put us out of touch for many years. But our love for him never changed. If any of the family want to get in touch we are here for you. Take care Love John and Shirley Zenner. Mr. ZZZZZZZ

  14. I did not know Eddie but If Eddie Jr. is a reflection of his father, he (& his wife) must be a wonderful people & parents. I enjoyed watching Eddie Jr. play basketball @ Fond du Lac High School & at 3 on 3 tournaments @ Walleye Weekend. Eddie Jr. would always take time to say “hello” & have a conversation. What a polite & kind son. May God bless you all & bring you peace.

Dear Cheryl, Out of the 18 years that I worked at Waupun working with Eddie was the best times I’ve had. I will always remember his positive attitude, layed back demeanor and your chocolate shakes. I was deeply saddened when I found out about his passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
