Marilyn Veleke, 70, of Waupun was called to rest in the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

Marilyn was born October 22, 1947 in Waupun, the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Cupery) Tobak. On August 26, 1966 she married Harley Veleke in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. As a family they enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. Marilyn was a member of First Reformed Church. She enjoyed traveling and volunteering at Waupun Memorial Hospital. She continues to inspire her family with her unwavering faith in our Lord in her most difficult times, showing strength and grace.

Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Gail (Mike) Wargula of Ripon; a son, Chad Veleke of Waupun; a daughter, Kari (Craig) Ruis of Waupun; Marilyn’s very special friend of 14 years, Thomas Schave of Waupun; eight grandchildren: Taylor (Katie) Veleke, Lydia Wargula, Cody, Carter, and Benet Veleke, and Cayden, Cyler and Corey Ruis; great-granddaughter, Hattie Veleke; sister, Dorothy (Merle) Schouten of Waupun; sister-in-law, Darlene Luttenberger of Waupun; brother-in-law, Fred (Judy) Link of Plattsmouth Nebraska; and nieces and nephews.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Veleke in 2002; her mother and father, Minnie and Herman Tobak; father-in-law and mother- in-law, Marvin and Cora Veleke; sisters: Charlotte Link, Rosalie Tobak, and infant sister, Dorothy Ann Tobak; a brother, James Tobak; and brother-in-law, Delmar Luttenberger.


Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 13th, 2018 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and again at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Marilyn Veleke will be held Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Pastor Barry Lange officiating.


Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
