Theresa S. Westra, 92, of Waupun, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at The Christian Homestead in Waupun.
Theresa was born August 8, 1925 in Columbia County near Friesland, WI the daughter of Milton and Gertrude Westra Alsum. Theresa graduated Randolph High School. She married Henry P. Westra in East Friesland. Following their marriage the couple farmed outside of East Friesland. Following Henry’s death in 1983, Theresa moved to Waupun in 1984. Theresa was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun.
Theresa is survived by four sons: Philip Westra of Ft. Collins, CO, Michael Westra of San Francisco, CA, Douglas Westra of Santa Cruz, CA, and Tom (Dawn) Westra of Randolph, WI; two daughters: Gloria Jones of San Rafael, CA, and Nancy (Bob) Oosterhouse of Waupun, WI; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 1983; an infant daughter, Beth Ann; brothers: John, Dewey, Ray, Bill, and Gordon Alsum; and a sister, Jeanette Dozema.
Visitation
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Services
Funeral services for Theresa S. Westra will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Jeff Brower officiating.
Burial
Burial will follow at Friesland Cemetery.
I have such wonderful memories growing up with Aunt Theresa! Always so much fun for all of us at the family farm! -:) A very special, kind, caring Christian woman. My Father Herman is hugging her in heaven along with the rest of the family. May God bless her memory. Hugs, prayers and much love to her dear family as they go through the difficult days ahead.???
